Help the Environment by Looking After Your Lawn
A healthy lawn is good for the environment. Grass makes the air cleaner because it can absorb many things, from carbon dioxide to dust and even noise. Yes, even noise is absorbed by grass, meaning the nicer your lawn, the quieter and less stressful your environment will be.
Grass also generates oxygen, and it has been calculated that a 250 sqm lawn produces enough oxygen for a family of four. Although each grass plant is small, they contribute much to our well-being.
Our lawn care company provides bespoke moss control, lawn repair, weed control and turfing solutions to ensure lawns in and around Basingstoke are healthy all year round.
ECO LAWNS and The Environment
Lawns should be attractive and healthy, but unless they are taken care of in an environmentally friendly way, they may not be.
At EcoLawns, we do everything possible to be responsible custodians of the environment. Our fertilisers have either a high organic content or are fully organic. More importantly, the site surveys we carry out and the calibration of our equipment mean that exactly the right amount of product is applied, eliminating the possibility of runoff. Unfortunately, no organic weed control is currently available. However, we minimise the use of chemicals as much as possible, and our technicians are all trained and qualified to use herbicides safely.
When it comes to waste, we take recycling and the environment very seriously and use multiple tools to dispose of any waste safely. Organic waste, such as from scarification, is delivered to a local farmer for composting and ploughed back into the fields. Plastic waste, typically from empty fertiliser bags, is collected by a specialist contractor who recycles 100% of the plastic. We also clean and bag all chemical plastic waste (empty chemical containers), which are taken separately to be made safe and recycled.
Even our pallets from deliveries are handed to local groups and people who need them. We recycle 99% of our waste products and materials and are working hard on that last 1%!
